Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Removing Seat Belt - Multivan

    Hi Vanners,

Has anyone had any experience removing the a seat belt from the rear 3 person seat. ?
Our dogs have decided they like the seat belt and have chewed though one.

I plan on sending it away for repair.

I have found a place in Perth that does Australian Standard seat belt repairs.

    thanks

The lower section is just a simple bolt to undo, cant remember exactly how I did it. Half tilt the backrest back and lift the base up, should be able to slide a spanner in and get it undone. I did mine when fitting a seat to cover.

As for the top mount with retractable mechanism.....I have not done. Unscrew the plastic guide in top of chair where the belt come out and have a look in there.

    Good luck!

      hi ivo

i have the base bolt sorted, the mechanics seems to be in the middle of the seat, not sure if you can access it.

I bought a set from a tool shop, about $50 maybe. You can also use them to tighten your armrests.
