Oh dear, there seems to be a lot to learn about these beasts! All this talk of egr and provent and sludge build up has got me nervous. So help me fellow van lubbers, what on earth is there that I really need to know for a 103KW TDI?

Just spent some time in the diesel forum, now my head hurts.

It likes good quality diesel (which goes in via a flap covered hole in the back of the van). It likes the best oil that money can buy every 7,500km (which goes in a hole with a screw plug in it under the bonnet at the front...after you drain the old oil out from underneath).
But....above all...it likes to be driven. Along open roads. For hours on end. Whilst carrying something.
It hates stop start traffic and will tell you that by choking to death on snot of its own making. So drive the damn thing properly...
As for that other diesel specialist frippery.....forget it. Just drive the thing properly and you'll have no dramas.
