T5 2005 2.5 td timing belt question?

Hi Guys.............does the 2005 2.5L DT AXE 128 KW engine have a timing belt or gear chain?

If its belt................when are the changes (ks) due? Cost ?

Oh and are there any known issues with this engine?

all t5 2.5 tdi's are gear driven which means no maint/no cost. plenty of threads around from people being quoted and/or paying only to find out later they don't exist

But they do have Gates couplings to drive the A/C and alternator which do need to be replaced every 180,000km. Some people confuse them with a cam belt.

Yes, quite a few issues. Search is your friend (and the Brick Yard forum has lots of info).
