  • Drivetrain oils

G'day all, I'm a lurker not a writer but I would appreciate some advice. My 05 4motion is about to hit 200 big ones so I will change all the drivetrain oils. Haldex is done but enquiring if the info on the maintainance thread is still current. I like Penrite and wondering if Transaxle 75 can be standardised for front diff/trans as well as the bevel box and rear diff. Keep up the great work !

Penrite is constantly changing their product recommendation, so make sure that you check with their site when you performing the oil change or use VW oils from the dealer. The reason for the change is that they have a better product now or some additives to make the specific oil are not available at the moment or no longer available. I suggest that when there is no oil available from Penrite, that you use the oil from the dealer or check other reputable oil company (much safer than $$$ for the new gearbox, diff or whatever you put the wrong oil in).

Use PENRITE SIN GEAR OIL75 now, instead TRANSAXLE 75 (but only if recommended by Penrite for the aplication).
