  • rear brake pads adelaide

Need new pads at the back. After 80,000 the rears are getting thin and they have always had an annoying squeal since new. Stealers here in Adelaide want $136 for a set of VW brand but i picked up a set from Car Torque in Kent Town for under $60. They are the RDA extreme low dust semi metallic. Part numberRDX2052SM.
I'll keep you posted on how they perform and yes they are fitted with the sensor wires.
Don't bother with REPCO, their staff discount price is over $60 and there is nill stock in Australia.

I used Bendix at the front with the slotted discs, am very happy with the low dust, good performance and they will last at least2x as long as the OEM. I will put the no. for the rear pads into this stickie, if that's OK with you.

Do you have 17" wheels on yours?

Wheels are 16" on a dual cab. Got some nice alloys that are filthy after two days. Were the bendix on the front easy to source? Bendix part number for the rears was DB1956 but no one has them.
Go ahead and stickie, this site and the brickyard have been absolute gold for help.

better than my last nissan. that pissed through front and rear pads AND ROTORS in 50k!! Nissan wanted some crazy price to fit and replace, I did it myself in under an hour all round for $600! still, 50k out of all rotors is pretty bad.

I personally know Simon Baxter the owner of the Brickyard,

He is one most knowledgeable people I have ever met regarding VWs.

He has always given freely his information even though he has his own workshops fixing VWs.

The website he runs has more info than you would ever need regarding T3 T4 and T5s.

For those that have never seen the site have a look here...::: The Brick-yard :::

Go figure, just done a lot of work on my wifes V6 Honda Odyssey. Bought it new in 2000 and have now done 280,000k
Put new front rotors on FOR THE FIRST TIME. Rear rotors were still in spec, just. Says a lot about a car that has spent its life mainly doing high speed highway work not needing any steering, suspension or rotor work for over ten years or very high mileage. I know the T5 will not even come close to this. Before the honda we had a camry. Sold it at 435,000 but it had been through three engines and a gearbox.
