2005 T5 1.9TD Location of temp sensor?

Hi my Transporter has started to intermittently play up with the thermo fans running when cold and the temp gauge dropping to no reading. I assume it is the temp senso but cannot find a post with its location. Seems some are in the radiator and some are on the engine in a couple of places. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help. It appears that the engine in the pics is different not sure if its the 1.9 pd or not. I will take the lappy to the shed later to see if I can work it out. It is not clear if the ECU uses the same sensor as the gauge or not. Mine is still going well and giving excellent fuel economy so unlikely the ECU thinks its cold.

Try the bottom of the passenger side tank of the radiator. It's just above the bottom hose.
