To be frank one fellow van driver I know carry's a funnel and if filling an empty tank never fills over 60 litres to make sure he doesn't get a diesel bath. It's very "interesting" when you are showing no range left, in a regional area and come across hi-flow pumps only. Once spent 10 minutes filling slowly...lol.....ps. the funnel carryer also has a box of disposable gloves.
All my t4's had the high flow filler necks, but the T5's don't.
Also, I don't know why, but there are some big country servos, that when you fill up in the truck diesel section, you pay 2cents a litre cheaper than the car section. They do the discount at the register.
It can be done, just get the angle right and don't use the full flow.
Ford dealers are selling adapter for Ford Mondeo diesel that fits over hi flow nozzle. I think it cost around $10.00. There was a thread in the diesel section about it.
