Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • T5 Battrey cover voltmeter

I got bored this afternoon and vent to check the battery in T5 and had an idea to put finishing touch to that battery cover.

Ok, glued to the cover is the board with display from Projecta it draws only 24mA from the battery when 3 LED lights are cut off with them I think it is 34mA. It could be connected permanently or via switch under the bonnet, so it would come on only when you lift the bonnet. I used switch that I had laying around.

I used Super Glue and Sikaflex for attaching it to the cover.

You can buy it from Motortraders or good battery supplier for $20-$30 I picked mine for $18 when they had sale.
