Has anyone fitted a CB type radio in to a T5 - in to the overhead access? are there power cable there from the factory?

Only power cable in that area will be small dia wire for the light. Though, you could use that wire to pull in the thicker wire to power the radio.

I pulled in several wires up the right hand side of the windscreen and across to the access. The first wire was for the Phaeton cabin light (dimmer), the second was power for the Vertex UHF unit. I used a flat plastic strip to push the wires through the same clips used by the existing wiring harness. Aerial cable was run to the left.

I fabricated a couple steel brackets to utilise the two threaded mounts left by the old cabin light mount - the Phaeton unit just clips in. You do not want your UHF unit flying through the air in a front end impact... The original cubby trim fits neatly around the mounted UHF unit.

I wouldn't bother....just get one of these UHF 477 MHz CB Radios | GME and mount the thing wherever is convenient
