Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Can i ask what you bolted these into?
Are they for a T4 Caravelle
If not i hope you used the spreader plates on the captive nuts under the van?
If you dont use spreader plates the seat might rip out of the floor in a crash.
Hope this info might save some one.

thanks i talked to a guy in the uk who does the genuine seats, he told me that i needed the captive nuts aswell so im getting the bolts first and then ill get the captive nuts for under the van, thanks there are a few styles on nuts/base plates so ill get under the van to see what it looks like when it goes throught the van floor.
going in my t4 wich had a bed seat but i got the genuine middle row the 2seater and single seater so i can take them out easy for putting my bikes and stuff in.Last edited by Transporter; 03-08-2010, 10:27 PM.mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha

One of the nuts is a pain in the arse to get on the bolt.
Its the one nearest the sliding door.
The best way to fit it is to put the nut on a spanner and tape it on so it does not fall into the box section.
Once tight you can pull the spanner and rip the tape.
The spanner has to go in through a hole and at an angle.
You dont have to make the nuts captive but if you remove the bolts then they will need to make them captive.
Hope it helps Rob
