T5 4Motion lift and tyres...Help??

Hi all,
time is coming to replace tyres on Lola the Tranny, she is also sagging a bit in the rear due to constant weight so I am after a bit of a lift and maybe one size up (profile) on the tyres.

Any experience out there with these mods??

BTW she is an ex Ambo, and is running Nokian tyres which have been GREAT, I have put 35K km on them and see 15K more before they would be dangerous (ie obviously bookable or insurance risk!)

The van has 17" steel wheels with 235/55/17 tyres.

I'll second Flyingfridge & Transporter here. In my previous T4 I used the Polyair air bags and now with the T5 have the Pedders Kings'. The inflatable method means you can adjust your height while the Kings under no load give a far more obvious tail up profile. This is a cosmetic sacrifice I'm more then happy to make as when I load over 800kg purely in the rear third area by forklift I have a small taildown look, say 2" below level, but the rear mudflap never strike the ground over bumps and there is no "floaty feeling" which would happen with the polyairs. Plus springs won't ever run the chance of leaking.

As to tyres, I actually got 87,000km out of the original Michelin Agilis 51 16' tyres however I went to Pirelli Chrono. I could have probably gone another 2000 before legally pushing it, but with winter here and rain finally in Vic it would be a risk not worth taking.. They're not cheap however in 215/65/16 there are no Hankook Dynapro's with the correct load rating.

So it looks like Pedders will get a visit, and I will check what I have , maybe some Bilstiens reside in the Wheel wells already, if a little worn, Lola has 112K km, and she does carry a load, along some pretty rough trails at that!!

I will have to see what height I get and do tyres from there, the extra clearance would be nice, as I said she sees a trail or two.

My T5 drives better with raised springs and H/D shocks than with original shocks and springs. The original shocker on left side was replaced (under warranty at 35,000km approx.).

And most likely you have Monroe shockers (made in Belgium) at the back at least that was in my T5.

Frantic, I had a look, and unfortunately I missed on the Bilstiens so there will be no rebuilds

Silver 'velle, I dont really know how the Cargo's would go in mud/wet grass, these being the most common conditions where the 4 Motion system has been a blessing for me so far. I just love it when my mates Hiace gets nowhere near the job and Lola (my pet Tranny) dosen't even seem to slip a wheel!!!!

Tron..the Goodyear Cargo G26's are fine on the mud & grass. My set on the T4 took us around the country some time back. NO punctures. Handled commuting on the Darling River Run even on the rare damp-ish days...I did have a memorable hour on the blacksoil south of Bourke after 15mm but still made it home without getting stuck. The dirt roads shortened their life considerably but they do that to all tyres...

Beware the Cargo Marathon's however....fortunately they are only available in one 16" size.

I've been looking to upgrade springs and shocks on my T5 4Motion, and the thing I keep coming up against is that Koni and Bilstein don't appear to have anything suitable for the 4Motion on their web sites. Has anyone found alternatives?

Mate, mine drives better than with the standard spring and shockers, mind you I carry a lot of weight 100% of the time.
