Driving light mounts

I just bought some driving lights as its getting very dark of a morning and the last time I hit a roo it was very close to writing of my van.
Ive made up an angle plate that attatches to the bumper behind the number plate giving a flat mounting surface above it but Im not sure this is the best way.
How have others mounted there lights?

I'm not much help as I tossed the OE bumper and now have an alloy bullbar...and the lights are mounted to that.

The OE bumper is basicaly a big block of high density polystyrene and there's not much strength in the number plate mounting (because there's typically none needed).

If thee were me I'd mark on the bumper top where you might like the lights to fit then pull the OE bumper (which is easy - only a couple of bolts) to check there's a good lump of styrene under that point. If there is then head down to Bunnings et al. and source a couple of 50mm 8/10 gauge Type 17 Hex drive screws - they look a bit like roofing screws. Ramset do some specialty panel screws with very deep threads that might also be appropriate - something like the Ankascrew perhaps

Hi Vannin I mounted mine through the plastic bumper behind the number plate and into the steel section. You can easily get to it with the belly guard removed, You will need to make up a spacer as there is about a 12mm gap but once its tight it doesn't move or vibrate cheers

I dont have a belly plate and I tried to take of the bumber put no luck yet.
Some wally has lowered it that much I have to park over a drainage ditch to JUUUST squeeze under.
Also I tried to get the grill out to run the wiring, what the catch there lloks like I need to remove the whole front pannel?

I got the bumper off and had a good look around but I wouldnt be able to mount my lights through it as I need to be able to reach the nut underneath to adjust them.
So I was thinking about putting my mounting bracket on the metal part inbetween the to plastic grills but I cant get it off.
Ive heard it comes out as one piece but how?

Vannin, you have a T4 right?

It is possible to mount your driving lights, depending on size, in the the OEM bumper fog light recess you know.I did this on mine with good results other than the fact that they were in the firing line(stones) on Highways, etc. Even though they are mounted low, still very effective and less obtrusive.

See if I can find a pic.

OEM fog lights are no comparrison.

Yes T4 sorry.
They are Navara 175 so they are too big to fit in the fog light recess.
I shouldve done more research before buying them
