T5 Multivan Rust on Drive shaft Centre Section

Hi all,

Just curious, has anybody else got surface rust on the centre drive shaft section of their T5?

Whilst exploring some vibration issues (see separate post) I noticed this on mine (12 months old).

I have observed that the air-conditioning drain pipe drips directly onto one of the centre drive shaft joints, ensuring that it continues to rust. I have not been able to see what can be done about it as yet.

This link has some photos that confirms the rust. See first photo on page 2 on the link. Incidently above the shaft & in front of the lower engine mount as shown is roughly where the loose heat shield (can't be seen in photo) is that I am attempting to access and tighten down. What a pain that is!!
