  • Front bunk sling for Kombi Beach / T5

    Hi all
with the impending arrival of our first I am looking for a way to sleep bub in the front of the beach. I have seen a collapsible bunk that goes between the doors on an English website but have not yet seen anything here in oz. Has anyone seen or heard of such a thing?

Just Kampers sell one for a bay window but they also sell a bracket for them in their T5 section. Contact Roy or Anita at The Bus Stop and ask them (as they are the Just Kampers agents for Aus) what the go is. They look pretty easy to make if you just bought the brackets

      Hello its Rob here...

It might be my bunks you have seen on the UK pages..

      Me sat in one..

      My lad in one..

I could give you the sizes of the bed and maybe some one out there could knock you one up?

Melissa... Could you give me some more info on this bunk you talk about please?

If its Jusk Kampers UK i thought you had to screw through your plastics to fit there bunk?

      Rob

Its the one on the Just Kampers website - they have the brackets listed in their T5 section

        and the bunk

but you are right, you would have to screw through plastics - not nice. I like your design better.

Thanks all, there's enough dodgy plastic in my bus without drilling holes in it! However if it was my old bus i'd have no problems at all....

Rob, if you'd have the measurements of your bunk, or if you sell them I would appreciate it. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get someone good with canvas to knock up the sling, just need the frame.

I'll get in touch with Roy to see what the Bus Stop have as well.

            Thanks once again all!

Found the one I was looking for, unfortunately a little pricey when converting back to $AU, so I might see what sort of brackets I can get from bunnings and have a crack at making one, then get someone to make up the canvas.

I know this is an old thread (I found it looking for other stuff) but I was looking for a solution and found a cheap fix.
I went to the local camping shop and bought a "kids" size stretcher, then I trimmed it to fit between the windows.
My little girl loves it and at 15kg it easily supports her weight.

Im sure its a dymantina brand and cost $35 and has its own carry bag.

hey Rob, you might find it hard to get a job as good as that here in OZ!
