Hi Nik, been down this path myself. There is a camper conversion place in Melbourne "Shiralee motorhomes" and a 2 seater / bed will cost you $5000.00 plus the cost of a ply floor also. $600.00 from memory.

I built my own having made several for bay window vans over the years . I have a 3 seater folding bed for sale to suit a T4. You should find it with pic's in the " parts for sale " T4 folding seat.

        Hi Vannin
Before I bought my beach I was almost going to get a rock and roll bed put into my 76 camper, I think these were the guys that do it from memory http://www.daltrim.com/ I can't see any reason why they couldn't do it in a T4, though not a cheap process, however they would compliance them to be able to rego.

            haha
Ive been told that this wasnt an option in Oz so I wont find one.
But Talking to a mate with a t5 and he has 2 long seats down either side (with approved seatbelts) that folds into a bed.
Not exactly what I want but I,l give them a ring.
Now that Ive found out the rerar benches slide on rails possibly I can work somthing with that?

I did some ringing around today and I may have a new angle on me situation.
But 1st do vw rear seats fold flat backwards/forwards or both?
I could make either way work as long as they lay flat (parallel to the floor).
And Ive noticed in the UK the rear seats are on runners, is that doable in Oz?

Macron Campers, you can google this one.

allseasons campers have a rear seat, more like a VW rear seat ( same seat material and similar structure) which folds flat, and quoted me $2100 fitted with rta certificate They will do 2 or 3 seats, I was quoted for 2 seats.

All these companies will do whatever stage of conversion you want

Macron was one that I spoke to, very helpful guy but as I only want a seat fitted (I can do the rest of the fit out) he said I might be better buying elswhere to cut out the middle man and keep the cost reasonable.
Just checked out the t4 with the trakka conversion on evilbay the seat set up it has would be perfect!!

the trakka seat/bed is imo the best, running on tracks, ease of operation etc., but they flatly refuse to fit without doing the whole conversion. it is very frustrating trying to organize something which seems to be so straight forward !! I just wish we had the vast amount of resources for VW conversions here as are available in the U.K. !!

                      oh really that sucks!
I,ll still ring them anyway! and a few others I found. There has to be a solution surely Im not the only cheapskate (read dosnt want to pay more for a seat than I paid for the van) that wants this set up.

                        Ok rang around again...
Trakka say they dont do anything for the t4 (so who built the trakka t4s?)
I found Fontline in penrith? That will build a rock n roll seat (by the sound of it) install and engineer it for $2800. Which isnt bad but it is half the price I paid for the van!!
So Original rear 2 seaters, where do they mount in relation to the sliding door, can I offset it to that side? Can they be moved elsewhere (backwards/forwards) easily. I looked underneath mine but cant find any mounting holes and didnt have time to remove the interior to check.
What about the seatbelt mounts and how wide are these seats?
Sorry for all the questions but I dont know anyone with one I even drove around looking for some but only found 2 seater versions no rear seats.
                        Thanks heaps, Nik

Do you have the details of the company you rang in Penrith Nik. I tried Frontline in Brookvale but they will only do full conversion, cost more than the van ( another cheap skate here lol ). Thanks

Does anyone have some info on the twin seat set up? Although thinking about it Im still going to have to engineer it so the cost goes up. Makes $2800 for an engineered r&r bed more attractive lol.
