These shots show the bench seat position and the carpet mats I have put down on the floor and the pieces I stand up in the rear compartment to protect the interior when transporting stuff around. When not in use I just lay them flat on the floor.
2014 T5.1 Multivan Tuned by Pendle Performance Australia
While my Multivan has 2 ISO fix points on the rear bench seat and one on each of the captains chairs you cannot buy ISO fix seats in OZ! I believe this is because the bureaucrats in this country have not yet approved their use?!?!?!
The child seats are secured by using the cars seat belt; it is threaded through the child seat base pulling it down onto the seat. Additional straps that come with the child seat then loop over the top either side of the headrest down to an anchor point (as can be seen on the back of the bench seat in Ivo’s last picture). The multivan has three of these anchor points on the back seat and one on each captain’s chair.
For your 2 year old you will need a proper child seat or convertible booster but once a child is 4 years old (at least that’s the law here in SA) they can use a booster seat. This is what we have got for our 4 year old plus we use an addition harness that loops through the seat belt.
FWIW I’ve had to fit these child seats in a number of different vehicles but the Multivan is by far the most secure fit. Partly due to the ratchet lock retractable belts but mostly due to the large seats and deep seat cushions of the multivan.
