Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New Motor for my T4

So I havent been on here for a couple of days guys, hope you missed me as I have had untold Trojan Virus on my Computer. All good now.

It did give me chance to fit the new motor to my T4. Thanks to Peter Shelley at the CVWC for the engine.

So I took the front off the van and did it that way, like a Mk2 or 3, not from underneath like eveyone told me too.

    What a $hit of a job.

Literally fought it in every inch of the way. Every engine mount was a battle, but its done. Once the motor was in, it want together sweet as. Hardest bit was bleeding the clutch.

It has new driveshafts and front shox, so is greatly improved.

Went for a good testdrive and it was so nice to be back in the old girl.

There is still a bit of movement when I back off at 100kph, feels like something is moving in the front end. Any suggestions?

Job for another day though, Im happy for now.

It was a brand new engine mount at the back, but it has had the engine hanging on it and been abused, so it could still have play.

The computer goes fast now though!
