Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • PD Injector Servicing

Hi, I need to either replace my injectors or have them overhauled as they were fouled by glass bead blasting media which must have been left in the fuel lines in the head after refacing at the engine shop. Not many options for PD injector servicing/testing in Australia it seems, so it looks like I'll have to use UK supplier. Currently looking at Darkside Developments Darkside Developments - 1.9 8v TDI PD150 (ARL) Injector Set - 038 130 073 AL and WT Diesel X4 VW Audi Seat Skoda Injector 1.4-1.9 TDI | 0414720215 038130073AG – WTDiesel
Darkside have a solid reputation, and WT have great reviews, but a relatively new company and I'm not sure as price seems possibly to good to be true. Has anyone had experience with WT or know of a workshop in Aus that services PD injectors. I have been in touch with Cornell Diesel systems and Cairns Diesel Service so far.

Hi mate, apologies for late reply. I've looked into it extensively and almost no options for proper servicing in Australia. I bought reco/tested injector from Darkside, and they have been fine since. You can also post yours of to them, and they can get them tested, you may not have to get all of them rebuilt. I've got my 5 old injectors from a running motor, but no way to know if they are all ok, at least two were at then end of the worn out spec, but so too that could have been the head wear toggle leak. I replaced the entire head, and added the reco Darkside injectors all at once. From memory those injectors were about $400 each.

I use these guys in Melbourne, very reasonable costs. Pretty sure they do mail in. A years warranty. You must clean out the rail and fit a new filter!!!!

      They have new injectors too.
