After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Looking for D+ cable - Engine Running signal, 2012 T5.1

As above. I have T5 (not T5.1) information which says its a Blue cable, but this doesn't seem to be the case for my vehicle.
I want the signal to ensure my air compressor can't be operational unless the vehicle is charging.

This information HAS to be available somewhere but no amount of search has helped me.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks folks.

You are looking for terminal 61, alternator charge status.

If the T5 came with an invertor in an alternative market, that's the wiring diagram you are looking for, it will be a wire from the alternator itself, or from the BCM if it's one of those LIN-controlled alternators.

Found it. Interesting the inverter on the T5 is set to run all the time, not based on charging like the Passat is.

T18a/13 on the BCM, you are correct it should be blue.

Thanks MIG, I'll have to try harder! I appreciate your confirming the colour/ terminal.

It does require a bit of gymnastics to get at that wiring - something I would have been able to do a lot easier 25 years ago!

        Thanks again.
