Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Tyre size in carrier ?

    Hi guys,
    what size can I go up to and still fit a spare in the standard carrier under my T6.1 ?
    I'm considering 235/65/17 ... of course if damn Covid keeps going I won't need a spare as we'll hardly be
    using the van....

    thanks.

    I believe that will fit if its deflated, if i recall from previous threads on here.

    i've got BFG KO2 LT225/65 R17 sitting in my carrier inflated and its tight, but it fits

      For my t5.1, I've got 235/65/17 on 17x8 inch amarok wheels. Deflate and jack 'er in to spare wheel well. Not sure if changes for T6.
