Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I have never seen a T5 automatic 4 motion in Australia, and coincidentally I believe South African models were all automatic, happy to be corrected. Somebody om here will know if 2.8 and 3.2 is the same engine or not.

      The 2.8 V6 was on the T4. The 3.2 V6 was on the T5.
I wonder if the R36 V6 in the Passat has been customized in the T5. I have seen crazy stuff out of the UK and Europe.

T5 Multivans came with the 3.2V6 as an engine option, and the 4Motion was a drive option. All T5 4Motions were manual, and DSG wasn’t an option till later when the V6 was replaced by a 4cl diesel, even though it was in the R32.
