  • Tips on buying 2011 T5

Hi all, looking at purchasing 2011 TDI 400 with 7 speed auto. Any potential issues to look out for, it’s done 116000 km and the timing belt has been replaced. It’s from a dealer so it’s harder to get a lot of detail re oil usage etc.
    any thoughts most welcome

    Thanks

A very long test drive is the only way to check for high oil consumption. Do not buy unless you are sure about oil usage. The later models had a few engine improvements, but most were not fitted with D egr. I would advice to buy a later model with low km that does not use any oil and if a D egr is not already fitted, do so pronto. The extra cost of a late model could safe you money in the end. 2012 saw a update.
