Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    T5 4 motion bevel box / transfer case level plug

    I haven't been able to locate the level plug on my 2009 T5 with 2.5 BPC 5 cylinder 128KW diesel with 6 speed manual and AWD. I managed to locate the gearbox, rear diff, haldex and drain for the bevel box but can't find the level plug. I've scoured the internet but failed to find anything for this model.
    Any pointers much appreciated especially as I have a leaking CV shaft seal at present.

    Look harder on the driver side, it’s definitely there only hard to see.

      Seems what I first thought was the level plug was the level plug. Had me fooled when I couldn't put my little finger in to dip the level like I usually do!
      I couldn't believe such a large plug concealed such a small hole.
      Adding 170cc of oil has quietened the transfer case down enormously.
