Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    My 2 cents

I would replace rotors with that much wear, here's what I used:

Brakes International | eBay Shops Brake caliper rebuild kits £12.95ea
these UK guys were most helpful (to me) and shipped parts out extra quick.

    brakesspecialist | eBay Stores
Australian Disc Brakes T5 With 16" Rims Slotted & Drilled FRONT Disc Rotors $150 pair

2 x DBA2247 DBA OEM Rear Disc Rotors AU $160.00

    performancecarpartsonline | eBay Stores
Bendix (front) Brake Pad Set DB1947 $97.70 (non dusty)

Bendix (rear) Brake Pad Set could not find notes on these, but the rears are dusty,

    changed fluid as well,

Done 3 years ago, no problems since, still look new, and perform great
    .

Those were the discs that warped on mine.............but they are probably OK if you aren't carrying heavy loads and driving down Bulli Pass or My Ousley every day.

            Yes.
I was using their pads as well.
They diagnosed it as being caused by a wrongly embedded sensor wire but I think it was to much heavy braking.
Anyway, that seller replaced them under warranty no problem.
(well, I actually had ordered the DBA solid discs from them so I could get the warped ones off and paired them with the Italian pads I've used ever since.)
I took a full refund for the drilled and slotted discs and pads.
