Has anyone modified their T5 so they can open the tail gate from inside, I was hoping to see some pictures to get some ideas!

There is already a way to open the tail gate from inside: first, take off the small round cap from the back side of the tail gate. It will reveal a hole. There is a lever inside the hole that you can press to open the tailgate from inside.
If you plan to do this often, attach a string to the the small round cap so it wou dbe easier to remove it next time.Multivan MY12 TSI350 Red. Previous: 2008 Tiguan 103Tdi. 2010 Tiguan 125TSi. -

I also have drawers with a bed on top and like to open the tail gate from inside.
I used a bit of curtain wire attached to the manual mechanism which runs up to a small hole I drilled next to the brake light.
Works good just pulling on the wire although the plan for the finishing touch is to find a cool figurine to stick on top.
