  • New caddy buying advice

    Gents,

I have recently sold my VW Polo GTI and im on the lookout for a Caddy. I need to do some reno work on the house and some more $$$ is needed for this. Initially I intended on sourcing a cheaper 1.6 Petrol model for around $12,000, but after looking around, these seem to be often high km and bringing decent money still. I have heard the 1.6 isnt the greatest motor and I should aim towards a diesel. I will not be doing many kms at all, mainly using it to cart my pushbikes around and do some longer trips away for bike racing (so shouldnt be getting loaded up).

In short, I am after advice whether im best to buy the TDI or is the 1.6 petrol ok? I really dont want to buy someone elses problems, so I want something with good history and low kms.

    Any advice guys?

    Cheers

    Chris

i have a 1.6 petrol caddy, i get about 450-480km per tank and only ever filled it up with 98. its pretty weak, not much torque. but i guess if you only gonna use it for your pushbikes it would be ok. if i had a chance to buy another caddy it would be def a TDI.
