1.6 petrol caddy, shaking while on idle

Hey guys i have a little problem with my caddy, while on idle it shakes a bit but its not constant kinda shaking and doesnt always happen either. Normal idle is around 700, but when this happens i see that it jumps between 700-900. Driving is not effected by this, there's no loss in power or anything like that.

also, while the car is shaking, all i need to do is turn the steering wheel either direction and it stops shaking. its weird and driving me insane!

Engine shaking at idle

Hey Guys,

I had a similar issue with 1.9L TDI, turned out to be a gearbox end engine mount, probably due to boosting the farjesus out of it, could be worth checking.

Does it thump a little when you on and off the gas? Engine mount is actually under the bottom battery plate, will need to remove battery and mounting plate to check.

Mine was the worst case of flogged out engine mount VW had ever seen.

BFI make after market inserts for these, Rennenhaus offer these for sale.

Worked a treat, no more hesitation and reduces wheel hop, when you get the "dog-bone" engine mount insert also.
