    Hi,

does the 2007 VW Caddy have a particulate filter?

    If so, where is it?

    Hi Arie

Good question, I had a look at VW Germany's website and it is available as an option. (see here http://www.vw-nutzfahrzeuge.de/caddy/motoren.html)

As for availability here I'm not sure I don't have the latest Caddy brochure but my guess is its not available yet as it would cost more here but I could be wrong.

How about calling VW and asking them, thats what Customer Service is all about or call the salesman that sold you the Caddy

    Good Luck seeking the answers

      Ben,

thanks for the reply. I had a look at the German site but my German is very limited.
I called the Service Department of the VW Dealer and they tell me there is a DPF on the VW Caddy.

That probably means you should be using VW 507.00 oil (check in your owner's manual). This is a special oil that is "low SAPs" designed for use with DPFs. It has been difficult to get, but your dealer should be able to supply it now.

            Dpf

Go to your Mobil dealer for low ash oils specific to your model, it would not be stock! but can be ordered from Mobil's distribution holding yards etc.
The VW you refer to is based on the Euro 3 standard particle filter the next VW caddy will have one with a Euro four DPF
They self generate after aprox 2000 KS
This Link shows how it works
Although it's for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter it's the same with the crafter by VW not that sales folk even know where and what it does
Caddy's have a smaller unit , however the principle is the same, Now go get the dog and chase out the cat.
