2012 1.6 TDI Auto - considering a purchase

Hi,
Have just had my T5 transporter written off and am considering a 2012 1.6 TDI Auto caddy maxi.
It has 25000 kms on the clock
Any advice would be appreciated on what problems to look for
could anyone advise if this is post DSG problems?

I believe, and I will stand corrected if somebody has more accurate info, that the 2012 still has the problematic DQ200 7-speed dry-clutch DSG.

So you are looking for a Caddy that has been serviced religiously with a VW dealer or reputable VW-specialist mechanic, including DSG servicings every 60,000km. The 1.6 TDI is a diesel-gate engine, so you may want to know if it has been "updated" with the software fix and the extra intake airflow smoother grid.

It’s a MAXI TDI2502K MY13 with a 7 SP AUTO DIRECT SHIFT

Yes, I believe the 7-speed auto direct shift would be the DQ200 7-speed DSG gearbox that has had issues. I believe that the mechtronics software update fixes the issues but then it is down to a matter of how it has been driven by the previous operator and how well it has been maintained.
