  • Tax Return Time - what to do with the coin?

    hey everyone,

well, its that time of the year again where i get approx $1,300-$1,400 back from the ATO . now i know i won't be able to help myself and it will be going to the car

    my options are:

    - new tyres (Marangoli Zeta Linea's)
    - engine mounts (either APR or similar)
    - seat intake
    - springs (H&R or similar - someone please help with costings??)
    - k&n panel filter
    - colour coding of skirts (not sure of a costing??)

well these are the things i want to do next. i also want a forge TIP, FMIC, DP etc, but these will have to wait until my warranty runs out in just over a year .

what would you all advise my next steps/mods should be, keeping in mind i still want to keep a valid warranty and i would like a little change back at the end of it for myself.

Cheers for your help as always guys,

    Rhys

If you need new tyres, I'd do them, but if you don't wait until you do.

I'd do suspension if you don't want to touch your engine yet - but I'd go a kit rather than just springs.

Otherwise, I'd do the engine mount, k&n and engine mount. That's about $600 or so which could leave money for other stuff.

Colour coding just makes the car look better, but you've already spoiled that and bought silver

      Springs

Bought my H&R springs for $600. That's excluding fitting and wheel alignment.

            Yeah, that.

            You have PM.

EuroKraft sells intake for $160 posted I believe.
K&N is $100 or $160 I think - I think Shane's getting these soon, might want to ask him.
            Engine mount is $299ish.

                          It's $340, close enough though

That's the site I posted a fair while ago. At current exchange rates the H&R Cup Kit is down to $1005 delivered, when it goes below $1k importing will become a whole lot cheaper since it'll avoid the taxes. That's what I'm doing with my tax money.

Price looks good, but I would pay the little bit extra an get the H&R kit. Just curious though, why bother with a 40mm drop??I think the Polo looks great with a 25 to 30mm drop, but thats just me.
