Hi All,

I've just gone and BLOWN my budget on my new sound system for the gti by probaly about 200%. I had been planning on getting the sound system, the BMC CDA system, and the APR downpipe all done at the same time. But now I only have enough left in the kitty for either the BMC CDA or the downpipe. My question is, which option should I take? Which one would benefit me more?

You only really need a CDA if you're at stage 2, that's when a CDA really does it thing. I'd go for the DP if I had to chose out of the two.

Edit: I just realised you were talking about the turbo inlet pipe and not the dump pipe. My post was about wondering why you were getting a dump pipe if you already had a turbo back exhaust. Woops.

the downpipe will benifit more then the BMC

IMHO the $1199 that APR charges for their downpipe is astronomically overpriced particularly when the APR downpipe for a mkIV golf (which is very similar) is only $799.

If it were me I would find a good custom exhaust shop and get a custom downpipe done and then you should be able to get the BMC CDA aswell for only a bit more than just getting the APR downpipe.

Well at the moment it looks like the APR downpipe is looking like the winning choice.
For those that have the APR downpipe fitted, does the $1199 include fitting?

I've got one in mine, but I'm not sure on the price, I got mine installed with a few other things so got a good deal.

It's made by an exhaust place in Brisbane which probably is the extra cost.

I can't believe people are paying $1200 for a downpipe.
