  • Engine layout difference

Whats the difference between the mk4 golf 1.8T engine bay layout and polo gti 1.8t layout?

I notice the air box shape and the engine cover are different.

In terms of layout of the engine bay, not too much difference from what I have seen. If your talking about the shape of air boxes and engine covers then there is plenty of difference.

If you have an idea in mind it would be best to be more specific in your question if you want a better answer than the above.

What parts are you thinking of transferring across from the MkIV to the Pogo?

There's quite a few differences - DBW, induction, exhaust, variable valves (although I think some later MkIVs had that), suspension, wheel/tyre combos and brakes, to name a few.

I thought the engine in the Polo GTi did not come fitted with VVT.

I could certainly be corrected, but thought at least one side - inlet - was variable
