It'd be a start if you can tell us what model polo you're referring to... Also, is it a manual or auto? Also, in future, you can also look at the FAQ sections or use search on the forums.GTI|BBS|Forge|Whiteline|Custom CAI+K&N|Sparco|Toyo|Martini|JVC|Focal|ScanGaugeII

First remove the centre cup holder tray - that pulls out directly. Lift the back section up first (which is held in by 2 metal clips), then the front of the tray, which is 2 plastic clips molded into the tray. Remove the soft rubber piece in the centre void behind the ashtray, and also remove the ashtray. The 2 screws holding the piece in will be held in by two T20 screws, remove them, disconnect the lighter terminal, and lift the piece out - back up first. Pull the gear knob and gearboot off (stapled onto a piece of white plastic). Turn the gear knob/gear boot inside out, you should find at the base of the gear knob, there is a circular metal pin that holds it in. Remove that, and you can put another gear knob on.
Personally, I wouldnt recommend it, so think carefully before you do it - as I found that the circular clip pin holding it was impossible to refit back on.GTI|BBS|Forge|Whiteline|Custom CAI+K&N|Sparco|Toyo|Martini|JVC|Focal|ScanGaugeII
