Can anyone tell me if the 2006 Polo factory radio antenna is boosted at the antenna, and therefore has a power supply running to it at the back of the car? I want to buy a replacement one before I start start stripping the old one out and what to make sure I get the correct model.
Hi, I'm fairly sure they are, as this foldable replacement has a power input. I was considering the GTI CUP Edition style whiplash antenna which just screws on to the existing bases' lug.

Thanks for the link. I could't find any OEM replacement in NZ. Managed to locate a generic one but wasn't sure if it needed the booster. With the Auckland weather the way it is I don't want to start pulling things apart to find out that I have the wrong item. Your linked item is cheaper delivered than the NZ one so I will order today.
The new radio I fitted has crap broadcast reception so I am suspecting that the antenna is poked based on the internet search.
