  • H&R Springs

Hi guys, I am thinking of selling my H&R springs, they are just sitting in my garage. They are demo springs which has done around 2000km. (as new / clean)

The springs will lower then car 35mm all around, and has heard good things about them.

I am planning to go to Sydney on 5th July for a week, and I can bring them with me. (I am in Auckland).

Wanting to receive approx $200AUD, and you can pick up the item or get them sent to your address. I will be in Ryde area.

Let me know if anyone is keen, so I can bring them over with me!

    Cheers!
    06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

insanekiwi - mate why are you selling, have you got pics with them fitted on your GTI? I have Eibach Pro Kit fitted currently - how will the H&R compare and lower compared to what I have?

Pro-kit lowers 20ml and are designed to work with stock struts. H&R springs lowers 35ml and will give a much lower (and harsher) ride. If lowering up to 35ml, the stock struts won't cope - you'll need to upgrade the struts to do it right.

They are designed to be used on stock shocks, but as GT3 said, 35mm is a good height drop and the shocks won't last as they were designed to last with factory springs.

I guess it's still early, but haven't heard anyone with failed factory shocks with these on yet. They are quite popular in UK.

Try UK polo forum, they have a few cars with it, especially users like kenny_polo and m@tuner. Photos are all there. Please have look at that forum.

Apparently they don't have any problems with speed bumps / bumper grazing. So must be liveable.

These are demo items, and haven't been fitted on my car.

GT3 has offered me the best deal so far.

Sorry I dont mean to hijack your thread insanekiwi but while we're on the topic of H & R springs (didnt want to open up another H & R springs thread) does anyone know of any other H & R resellers in the Sydney area? I already called TCCA Motorsports at Artarmon for a set of lowered springs for my GTI and they quoted me $850 including fitting and alignment. Is that expensive? I'm curious to find out if other places can sell it cheaper or if $850 is the norm.

              Thanks.

I got a set of Weitech(same company as KW) springs through Inmotive at North Parramatta for $400...I'm just fitting the things myself, then getting a wheel alignment. I got Quoted between $200 and $300 for fitting, and thats in Darwin(where you add 30% to everything, cos its just too hard to do anything up here!!), so if you are paying more than $700 to $750, you are getting very jacked off!!

                  Buy them from there...

Get them fitted by anyone decent, they're just springs. Should be able to get them in the country and on your car for around $600 AUD.
