Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

so....this thread has gone on a wild tangent, it is no longer about gear changes it would seem. seems the topic is about what car can pull a quicker quarter!

at least we got 6/14 replies on topic

I have APR, 3inch downpipe with enlarged cat entry & exit, forge t.i.p, forge dv valve, cupra r intake with bmc airfilter.

The Polo now cleanly revs to 6,500 with plenty of power.

Although I still think that if i have enough self control, its good to change from 1st to second (when your into it) at about 6,000. It seems to limit wheel spin through second gear and as a result improve acceleration.

Kind of depressing getting into the polo today. Driving Audi's everyday has made me very tempted to upgrade.
Im thinking about one of the new limited edition S3's that we have in the showroom. Flat bottom steering wheel, sunroof, privacy glass, 18'' titanium finish RS4 style wheels, black high gloss front grille, Audi design bucket seats (basically the same as RS4 seats, without electric adjustment)

If i bought it, id be straight down to APR. 239kw !!!!!! with Quattro grip
this is where we went off track. we know you work for AUDI Mitch, which is great for you, but please stop trying to sell your cars all the time (continuous raps).....it gets boring. it was a question on Polo's, WTF does that BOLD section have to do with optimal revs for gear changing in Polo's!

Flying today in a Bombardier Dash 8 with 5000+hp and then getting back into my polo just make me depress at how slow and how little power the polo has.....

Anyway, stock polo wise, mine runs out of puff at 5500rpm.....So, that's the best time to change (i reckon)

OK ... so ... to summarise. Std Pogos change at 5,500 ... chipped with breathing help 6,500. OK?

            Case closed.
