true. But he seemed so trustworthy! lol

Nah in fairness the guys at mcgrath liverpool were quite good, especially the business manager that pushed the loan through.

      • My one is on its way tomorrow from QLD.

It's a 2008 VW Polo GTI - Candy White, 25kms. No options other than the slimline weathershields.

Lets hope she makes it here OK

          Have you driven one yet?

          • Hey Ben, once again, thanks for Saturday. Really appreciate you taking out the time to show me the car.

I haven't driven it yet, but I have a fair idea, (no, it's not taking into account your beast - haha).

Planning on getting him new shoes, so that should be here by the end of the week/ early next week. I'll be after some wheels just to give him some character. I'll also be ordering in some Euro plates to give him the plates he deserves!

            Yes, it's a he!

            • Three weeks without a car, a visit to Ben (no-one), hassling VW dealers all over Australia, researching the vehicle, endless amounts of carsales search, reviews and comparisons and waiting for the vehicle to arrive which felt like forever has finally paid off!

Is that all onroads included? That would have to be a record for a new GTI. $26900 incl onroads seems to be as good as you get (or used to be)

                        • I went out to look at a new Polo GTI last night and ended up buying a Shadow Blue 2006 GTI instead! As much as I liked the DSG version, the old school feel of the 9N3 suited me - plus it was half the price even with the warranty. Needs a good detail and service, which the dealer will do, and I hope to get it tomorrow - Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas to me!
Also, being a bit older I won't feel so bad if I start to modify it a bit. I won't do much (tune and tyres probably) as I have a brilliant weekend/track car already. This is going to be my daily driver.

                          • How ironic. The previous owner's name was Mintie.

I'm also in process of buying a 2006 polo gti.... beautiful cars & awesome to drive! was going to get the toyota corolla newer version but love vw quality. I also sat in the new GTI and like you prefer the older one, not sure why but I felt the older one was bigger?

If you dont mind me asking how many km does it have and much did you pay for it?

                              • Sup guys,

Took delivery a week or so ago of my new (but not brand new) 9N3 Polo 2.0. Got it on auction for a steal. It has a few bumps and bruises but I'll be sorting it out soon. Mechanically she's very sound. Had to "downgrade" a touch from my MKV GTi as I'm getting married soon and as most of the married guys know, the ride with the highest running costs is a wife. lol

I'm planning a few mods for it and will post some pics once she's all good to go.

Look forward to learning a lot about these little cars as I'm complete new to them.
