  • Cool places to take car pics at

Heya guys. I just wanted to ask everyone if they knew any places that would make ideal places to take pics of the car at.

I've already been told Homebush is a good place to take car pics. But can anyone else suggest cool places for back drops?

I've seen a few car pics on the internet with the Opera house and bridge in the background but I have no idea where that would be. Anyone?

Homebush is always a good area, especially near the Acer Arena. Any industrial area is good - just got to keep your eyes open compositionally and see whats an interesting backdrop..

The rocks is always a good place.. Jetties and boat ramps would look pretty cool with a nice horizon (sunset, storm, clear day etc). Car parks look the goods too - monotone colours, industrial, harsh looking pictures - me likes

Have a look in the pictures of our rides area for a thread called big dub + little dub + renault clio..

I didn't think that those pictures were going to turn out as good as they did. the factories didn't seem like anything special till the pictures were uploaded. In the end they ended up being pretty cool...

The thing is you can take a photo anywhere its a matter of making use of what you got:

        For instance the carpark shot:

        Road shot:

        Open Light shot:

        Undercover Shot:

        The Warehouse Shot:

carriage works in redfern (the last shot steve posted) is one of the best industrial ones. or if you want bridge + city then try blues point. just spend a night driving around and you'll find tonnes of stuff (bring a big tripod though).

Hey Steve, the undercover shot is arty, ..nice, but I wouldn't use if I were selling the car - no point showcasing the cancer/rust

I've seen some good shots of S3s at night under lights, next to the terminals, either High st, Kurraba rd or Milson rd, ..bugger can't remember. Great back drop too
