For those in New Zealand with a Polo GTI 1.8t BJX 9N3 looking at a better turbo down pipe, I've got a potential option available by a local fabricator in either proper grade Stainless Steel or mild steel.
An aftermarket Milltec, or other, due to exchange rates, shipping and duty, according to a local VW aftermarket parts supplier, would be around NZD1,000.
This locally fabricated part, including installation will be less than that. I'll be getting a 3" stainless steel item made later this month; happy to take photos etc...
