Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Sounds good guys.

It sounds like its normal but I'll still try to get some logging done before I go to stage 2.

I'm getting a quote for a dump today, so hopefully I can have it all running before Xmas on stage 2.

Just to finish this thread off, I did some more logging tonight with ME7 thanks to some help from Sean.

So it looks like everything is normal and running like it should.

ME7 logger is actually quite easy to use once you get it all figured out.

      Thanks for your help guys.

awesome resolution with me7 compared to vcds graphs. The actual boost really goes off a cliff at 5100rpm doesnt it.

Excellent to see and hear it all worked for you Luke. I assume you logged in 3rd gear?

Sam, the sample rate of ME7 is much more powerful (20x second) than VCDS (just over 1 per second), plus can log all properties in one run, rather then only 3 properties at a time.

Luke, what was your Mass Air Flow reading, column X typically? Find the max figure (just do an =max(...) equation), then divide by 0.8. That's a loose hp figure. At a guess, I'd be expecting something around the 140-150 hp peak. By comparison, the stage 3 polo's logged and measured as above are around 230-240hp. I can't recall what my daily polo, tune only is... would have to check when I get home. Obviously this is engine horsepower, not at the wheels.

For boost in PSI, say column AC (Boost pressure desired), the maths is =(AC24-1000)*0.145 to get PSI. 1000 is barometric pressure, 0.145 being that 14.5psi equals 1 bar of pressure.

It was only in 2nd unfortunately, nowhere long and straight enough for a 3rd gear pull close to me

The MAF formula is interesting, but my log got corrupted when I moved the ME7 folder and I can't view it now, but I will be going some good logs on the weekend and have the perfect place to get some nice consistent runs in so will have a whole heap of data to look at.

I was making my graphs in excel, but got ECUxPlot working and it is amazing! So much easier than excel.
