How many have one in their Polo, and if the opportunity presented itself again, would you have it (@ $1550) or save it for something else or just reduce the amount of your loan.
OR, who didn't get with their Polo and wished they did?
lets see... more weight, chances of leak, weaker roof & body flex? lol i got mine with leather for the heated seat and thats it... that 1.5k could be spend where else T4... but that just me lol

I would think the roof would be stronger as there would be reinforcing.
But it's a million times more useful. You sit on the seats every time you hop in. There are 2 or 4 (depending on number of doors) glass panels that you can slide open or closed if you wish.
Leather makes it more comfortable, easier to clean, gives you heated seats (which are awesome) and make it a more prestigious vehicle.
Each to his own.
I got a sunroof and love it. Reckon it's worth every cent. Not much use now, but in warmer months its brilliant.
Yeah maybe it's a bit heavier but i guess i'll just have to get a whopping big turbo!
I previously had a Mazda 929 (92 model), that had the sunroof. The thing rattled, and also constantly had little formations of rust rathering around the lining, which got annoying. Furthermore, the thing didnt shut very well with age, which ultimately turned me away from getting a sunroof.
I do wish on sunny days I could wind down the window and sunroof (if I had one on the Polo). But just the remind of all those annoying issues put me off the idea of having on installed from factory.
Regarding the weakening of the structure, additional bracing is lined up to replace the lost structural strength (from what I gather from most car companies that incorporate sunroof's as an option).
The sunroof adds weight. And it adds it up high which is not good.
It's the very reason the new M3 has a carbonfibre roof. to lower the centre of gravity for better handling.
I got leather and a sunroof. If for no other reason than it is cheaper to get these options on the Pogo than most other cars on the road (BMW is $3k plus).
My first car 20 years ago had a sunroof and I really missed it. Glad I got one this time, although it is a little noisier than I would like. Especially like the tilt/slide operation, tilting helps keep things cool in summer.
I got a sunroof in mine. It is the first car I have ever had with a sunroof and I am glad I got it. The way I see it its about as close as you can get to a convertible without having a convertible. Its great to use when the weather permits it.
Sure it may add a bit of weight but if your so concerned about a few extra kilos then you may as well go and take out the rear seats and replace the fonts with some light fixed-back buckets. Remove your spare wheel carpet and roof lining. But not many people will do that, I don't recall anyone here on the forum being that pedantic and going to such extremes.
I also think it makes the car feel a bit more upmarket.
