Hey Wesh ... I've seen your car around ... always meant to put a WcVW flyer on the windscreen. 1st mod? I would say 'chip it'. It's the most significant mod you can do and the one that'll give you biggest bang for your buck.

      Cheers,

Mine is still stock.. after 31000km and I had the trial tune

More important things to spend money on has been a big barrier for me.. and the way rent / food / fuel is going up I will not be able to afford the tune anytime soon...

Least the stock car is still a good bit of gear

If it's stock, why does your sig say 'Custom Leather'? Red/Grey are the normal colours as well.

No I have red inserts down the centre of the seats along with additional red stiching in places.. I had no need for heated seats in QLD and I thought the stock leather was a little 'bland'.

As above I would not consider this a mod

So you have no money to chip it but you have enough money to get custom leather interior done?

Each to their own...I'm not about to tell someone how to spend their money...If they want leather, let them have it...I would have taken the ECU tune, but it ain't my dosh.

I have to correct my earlier post. My car is now modded, its got a frew VWWatercooled sticker on the back of it.

I reckon its good for at least 10Kw at the wheels

Thanks Golf Loon for the quick work on getting the sticker to me.

Hi all...been sitting in the background reading here for a while now...thought id pipe up and say gday...gday.

My gti is stock as since i bought it on 31st March 08 and after 5000kms am not complaining.

However, what are the insurance premiums like for those who have told thier insurers about their mods?
