    On second thought it could be doing exactly the opposite - It could actually act as a noise supperssor if calibrated correctly.. In theory, it could create a harmonic that is 180deg out of phase with the induction noise thus cancelling it completely out. This would make the cabin quieter.

    BMW have similar electronic generators on their exhaust systems to lessen NVH levels
    Check this link guys ! I think it's the same problem !

    Here is Alex's reply when i sent him pics of my engine's bay :
    "Those pics show a “noise pipe”, by the looks of it all it does is enhances turbo sound inside the car. The Aussie cars don’t have that… so the FMIC was not designed with that in mind. If you remove it completely, as many 2.0T guys do in the US, you should get a bit better turbo response. If you use our FMIC, you will lose that pipe. It doesn’t look terribly difficult to remove."

    For memory, Alex was working at Harding Performance but he left...
