    Hi everybody,

I present, i'm a GTI addict from New Caledonia. I hope my English will not be too bad....
Summing, i took contact by mail yesterday with Shaneth who suggested me to join the forum. Indeed, i've got a project for my Polo GTI '06 5 doors which is getting end of warranty.
But in New Caledonia, we pay a very expensive tax at import.
So perhaps, some guys of this forum could help me for small parts of my project.

NB : This was for me a lot of research and reading especially 'cause i'm not an expert but i think it's the parts the most appreciated.
Also, this is not fixed at all, there is more to come like rims, body kit...
For each mod, i selected one or two manufacturer at last so my final decision will be made by the price and the performance...

Here it is (In red is what i choosen and what i'm owning on my GTI) :

STAGE 1 -- "Add Power" COMPLETED

    Remap/Ecu Upgrade :
    APR Tuned VW Polo GTI 1.8T (204 hp - 328 Nm) -- V2 in 95 RON
    Revo Technik 06 - POLO GTI 1.8T (212 hp - 322 Nm)

    Air Intake :
Seat Air intake hose & trumpet + K&N Replacement Filter

    Turbo Inlet Pipe :
    Forge TIP
APR Tuned APR VW Turbo Compressor Inlet Hose

    BOV :
    Forge Split'R
    Turbosmart FG-BOV-KTDP25 (25mm)

    Gauges :
Défi Link-Meter BF (White) -- Turbo Boost & Oil Temp
    Prosport Performance/Premium

    STAGE 2 -- "Add Handling"

    Suspension :
B12 - BTS Tuning System - SE5-8861 (Bilstein B8 shocks + H&R springs) -- Not fit yet but on the way home...
    Bilstein B14 - PSS System

    Strut Brace :
Forge Front Strut Brace -- Not fit yet coz i have to remove a hose to put it on
    Forge Rear strut brace

Whiteline Swaybar-h/duty Blade adjustable Rear (BWR19Z)

    Dogbone :
APR Tuned APR Engine Mount (sport version) -- Not fit yet coz i will do it at the same time i get my suspension

    Bushes :
    Powerflex & Seat
Front Wishbone Bushes - Full Kit
2 x Powerflex Polyurethane Front Bushes
2 x Genuine Seat Ibiza Solid Rubber Rear Bushes
-- On the way home too...

STAGE 3 -- "Add more healthy power"
    FMIC :
    Forge Front Mounting Intercooler (FMINTPOLO)
Forge Intercooler to throttle body hose (FMPOLOTB) -- On the way home...

STAGE 4 -- "Add more handling"
    Rims :
??? 17x7.5 not sure about the offset --> Still have to find the good ones...

    Air Intake :

    Brakes Upgrade :
    Audi S3/TT brakes Calipers: 1x 8N0 615 423 C (caliper)
    1x 8N0 615 424 C (caliper)
    Caliper Carriers 312mm Audi Caliper Carrier 8N0 615 425 2 EA Rotors 312mm Audi Brake Disc 8L0 615 301 2EA
A couple things... the brake pads would be different on the bigger calipers, wait and get the pads with the new brakes (or get the brakes earlier).

The intake, don't bother doing it twice, go straight to the BMC CDA (which will need a smaller battery for it to fit).

That looks like it will be an awesome car, good luck, keep us updated.

      Welcome Quest,

      Nice list of mods mate.

While i agree with tosspot i guess it depends on who long it will take you get from Stage 1 to Stage 3. In the end its up to you.

Obviously that would have a bearing, and the money tree you've got. If you want to save money, re-arrange some of the mods so you only do them once.

You're right Tosspot and i've already think about that.
As a matter of fact, i want to get new 17" rims with my brakes upgrade in Stage 3. That's why, i plan the Ferodo before the whole upgrade. Perhaps, i need a Stage 4 for that...

Regarding to the air intake, i note from my research that the BMC/CDA is always going with the exhaust upgrade. Moreover, if i put the exhaust upgrade in Stage 3, it's just because it will be the more expensive upgrade for me due to local tax in New Caledonia. Shaneth could say YES to that !!
And i knew that BMC needs a smaller battery to fit in...representing extra money again !

However, it's true that i could re-arrange some of the mods. It will depend of what i'm sure i can have without extra taxes...

          Thks for advices Tosspot !

As promised, i post the DynoGraph of my first run + some pics !

My Pogo is going on 27 000 Km...but doesn't seems to be so bad !
By cons, we must remove approximately 20Kw to have the right power coz the Dyno was a little generous with turbo engine that day...
A Golf V GTI had made 164Kw at the engine power as i put 123.7Kw !

NB : My project is gonna start in the next weeks...i'm so impatient !!

Fitting the Forge TIP...is a painfull task !

Some pics before, during and after those mechanics days that i did myself !
I'm not a expert but i dit it

Don't pay attention to the dust ! Some say it's a preservative !
More seriously, i know that i must clean my car but i haven't got the time at the moment...

                  Before :

At this time, i had only got the Seat air intake + K&N filter with the Forge Split'R BOV.
And all the white plastic clamps that you see are the whole installation of my Defi gauges especially the turbo boost one.

Start to remove all the things plug on the stock TIP :

                  The MAF sensor :

The airbox with the K&N filter :

Once i removed the top of the stock TIP :

                  Almost removed :

My special tool for removing the allen bolt (size 8 ) near the turbo :

A pic of my sweety turbo where you can see the 2 holes (on each side of the turbo) where stand the 2 bolts (the little one on the right side is a size 5 ) you have to unscew before to remove the stock TIP and fit the new one :

An other pic of the KK3 :

                    The Forge TIP fitted :

I know I must seem a little excessive (frenchie touch ! lol !), especially in dedicating a thread to my project but I am sincere because without you nothing would have been possible !
