Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Engine light problem

    Hey all,

I'm sure this may have been covered before I can't seem to find it, but I keep getting my engine light popping up due to the fact that my secondary air induction (if that's what it is called) has been removed and the egr blocked. Is there a way to stop the engine light coming up or would I be needing to go custom ecu or actually buying the software itself so I can just clear the code?

    Thanks in advance
    Aldo

It's not EGR exactly but it is to do with emissions.

You can clear the code until the cows come home but the fault will come back every time with no pump fitted.

I have tunes that will stop the light coming on, although the ECU still sees the inadequate flow. I can do them for Phase1 and Phase 2. The same cost, so I reckon it's worth fitting a downpipe at the same time.
