with the cost of diesel....yes....it is being overlooked. also, the diesel looks the same as the match and club....pretty boring in comparison to GTI IMO.

is there even a chip available for the 9N3 Polo 1.9 TDI??

Yeah, there is a chip done by Ottinger that takes it from 74kwand 240nm of torque to 100kw and 315nm off torque.

Blitzen, that's for the 74kw engine, which is the old one I think.

        Superchips do one...

        Goes from ~130hp to ~167hp.

28% power gain...thats pretty good from a TDi.
not as impressive as our 38% though

Ahh, sorry about that...my bad. Have you guys heard much about the Ottinger Polo GTI chip? I know its 10kw less than the APR chip, but I think Ottinger are the only company actually fully endorsed by VW Group.

Speak to Guy_H or Lams as they are the distributor for both in Aus. I remember chating to Guy about it a while ago - something to do with import taxes or something makes it not so good value for the Oettinger? I could be way off but it was something along those lines.

I believe the Oettinger and APR chips are 100% identical. The only difference is the price and the fact that Oettinger offer a warranty.

                I could be wrong.

That's what I've been told as well. Only reason the Oettinger is rated lower is because of some German standard (Guy or Alex from HP can shed more light on that).

Basically, they all offer "a warranty", the terms and relevance of which have been argued here and on other forums a few times. Bear in mind that you are also have some cover under the consumer protection provisions of the Trade Practices Act.

Fair enough. I was speaking to my local VW dealer and he stated that the Ottinger chip was the only chip officially covered by VW Group.
