Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003, anyone seen them in Australia yet?

    Hi all

I was calling up tyre shops to get prices on Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002, when one guy from Bob Jane T-Marts said he thought the RE002 has been superseded by RE003. I didn't even know there is a RE003. He proceeded to quote me on RE002 tyres anyhow but it got me curious after the call.

So I googled Potenza RE003 and the search results seems to indicate it was released early this year in Jan? Bob Jane link here also shows it as available.

There is even a review of it on the following australian website just a few days ago.
Bridgestone Adrenalin POTENZA RE003 Test Day | Justin Fox

I guess I could go back to Bob Jane to ask them for a quote on RE003.

Has anyone seen it?? And from where?

It's only just been released last week (that was the press / test day I believe).

    Get the S001

RE002 and RE001 are budget performance tyres. RE003 would not be any different. RE002 tyres are made in Indonesia, just like Achilles which are also made in Indonesia and sell like hot cakes over there due to cheap prices.

S001 would be my pick too from the bridgestone potenza family.

Got some on the Squib now. Bought 205/50 16s. Look really chunky. I like the way they roll, the previous 002s were well past their use by date.

A bit of spacer action could be involved here.

I though $567 was very reasonable, the 002s were $750 out of the offer a bit over 2 years back.

You can't get the S001 in the sizes needed for 9N3 Polos
