Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi I just bought 2007 polo gti 9n few days ago and I'm trying to connect my phone to listen to the music and answering/calling if possible.
However, i cannot find an aux input.
Can anyone tell me where the aux input is if there is an existing one on my car?
Please tell me other options I can choose to connect my phone to the car (aux, bluetooth, fm transmitter)...
U can recommend me a product if you know the one that works.
    Thanks
    Daniel

You'll be heading to the stereo shop for those features on a Polo.

I got an adapter thing by a company called connects2 via ebAY. It plugs in behind the radio where the cd stacker would go.

Works ok for me, but some reviews aren't so favourable

Best to replace the headunit to obtain the features you want. For a VW adaptor you're looking at $300 odd - there are other cheaper options though. I remember laughing when VW gave me the price, so went and got a double din sat nav unit, sound quality is much better too.
Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
        Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline
Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

Depending on what you are looking for you will need a few different things.

If you are looking to get a new head unit you will need a canbus adapter (Personally recommend connects2 ctsvw0002.2) an antenna amplifier and most likely a fascia kit. Sadly as far as cars go our cars are tricky to upgrade!
