    Welcome to the forum Aiden.

You should consider the downpipe before the exhaust, unless you meant TBE. Some improvements in the mid range from the earlier spool to be capitalised on.

      Thanks for the advice Gavin,

Would you recommend a GIAC (family member can flash for me) or APR tune? Or am I opening a can of worms here?

Also besides from APR, anywhere else you can buy a prefabbed downpipe or better to custom fab? (2.5 or 3.0?)

Can't recommend either of those tunes Aiden. I am a Custom-Code dealer. I wouldn't do APR on cost alone though. Optimum Code - Serial Port Chip Technology - Home

I'd get a downpipe made and go 3 inch, Also, I'd advise replacing the dogbone bush. Have a read though my cheapy thread. Lots of upgrades in there to blow your money on.

          Looking forward to Gavin's response

Gavin is the supplier of Custom Code, which is an after market tune in the same manner as APR and GIAC.

You can get prefabbed down pipes or go custom. I expect they come back to similar money. Miltek make a down pipe too, not sure who else for prefabbed ones.

          PS. Welcome.

            Thanks boys will do!

did just read about the ECU's in the 09's (The year mine is), is their any chance you know by looking at the ECU/VINE determining wither it's OBD flashable or not ?

All 9N3 GTIs are OBD flashable, I also have a bench lead for the ME7 ECU type. So I can do postal tunes.. It's the ME17 series that are locked up.

Bench flash looks the same as this.

Good to know. Was worried as mine is a 12/2009. Gav I'll pm you in a few weeks in regards to a tune and some other ideas, once I've got all the maintenance out of the way. Cheers for all the info!

I am based in Melbourne though, so does that make things difficult?

                Some snaps of the car!

Looks good mate! Joining team silver As for the tune, go Custom Code, Gav does a great job and think you'll struggle to find anyone on here who wouldn't vouge for his work and how helpful he is. Recently had my Phase 2 tune done through Gav and really happy with the outcome

now looking for a digital readout gauge for volts/oil/etc to cover it and mount it (similar shape to the Parrot unit).
I am thinking about purchasing a BLITZ R-VIT/TOUCH BRAIN and was wondering if it was compatible.. That or I will be getting a new dash because I am overly meticulous about such things :/

Also NSP Vent Pod and Gauge ordered !

                      "to matriculate?" Which faculty?

Seriously though, clean looking car and congrats on the purchase

I've been looking at a digital boost gauge and been thinking it would be great if you could get a LED or LCD screen about the size of that parrot to go right in that location...still looking.

Also been thinking about the downpipe situation and have been looking at the options in the UK and Europe. Being in NZ, we can get away with no CAT on cars pre 2010, so I'm tending towards a Milltek decat. The only killer is the 99 pounds they want to send to NZ, but this is partly offset by them taking the VAT off the purchase price I think (being export and all). The Germans seem to be able to send downpipes to NZ for about 43 Euros, but the purchase prices are higher. If you're like me and not so good on Deutsch, watch out you don't end up buying decat pipe by accident - some of the Ebay listings show pictures of sport cats when the item is actually decat.

I've only spoken to one local exhaust guy and wasn't convince by his idea of a custom downpipe - but in a big city like Melbourne, no doubt you are spoilt for choice.

                        haha sorry ! Meticulous*******

yeah I have the NSP pod vent and gauge and wanted the BRAIN TOUCH or equiv. to monitor oil temps/volts etc.

the dash will **** me until I get a new one

Also today I realized the top of the passenger door frame is bent outfitter under 1cm.. Don't know how I missed that. Can't be bothered with the dealership so I'll probably get take it to the panel beater to straighten her out

I TRIED everything. Wax and Grease remover, Eucalyptus Oil, Multipurpse spray, Acetone etc.

Nothing worked and Goof Gone made it worse.. safe to say I hatched it. The area is now a different colour and those damn marks are still there. (With no idea how to reverse the effect)

Volkswagen Polo, Transporter Car Stereo CD Fitting Kit

allowing it to work with the "keeping on the stereo until pulling the key out function?"

I had mass trouble with this in my 6n2 Polo and ended up wiring power to a fuse etc etc. to come on when half turning the key lol

Im pretty sure you actually need an canbus adapter lead, not just a lead.

It was a stuff around to get my head unit in and in the end I ended up getting Northfield to finish it up.

This is the one you need

Connects 2 CTSVW002.2 VW Golf Polo 2004> Steering Wheel Stalk Adaptor

With our exchange rate its actually easier to just get one from Northfield.
