    Hey everyone,

Has anyone replaced the aerotwin wipers on their GTI? If so, do you remember the model number? The Bosch book only has the 6N models.

    Cheers

Ive been waiting for someone to ask this. Cause i have no idea.

You cant get a bosch one from like supercheap / autobarn cause they only sell the standard car ones. We have a special clip.

So I guess the only option is through VW. Fantastic - I thought $45 for wipers through SC was bad enough - probably be three digits with VW

Rehashing an old thread - by the looks of it you can get the Aerotwin refills from Supercheap. I have just measured the front wipers and the measurements are as follows:

Driver: 530mm (assuming this will require BBA530)
Passenger: 475mm (assuming this will require BBA475).

Has anyone managed to change the wipers with the Bosch version rather than through VW? Any issues I should know about?

Also, has anyone managed to replace the rear wiper? Where have they sought a replacement as it is only 325mm?

From memory through VW they were pretty damn cheap for the rubber section only (less than some of the aftermarket ones).

One of the aftermarket ones that was supposed to fit didn't, so check it before you buy...

For the assembly (metal piece included) or the refill (rubber bit)?

Call the VW Spares guy in service and check...

I think is the refill only...

I was shock by the price and didnt ask further...

Coz i done the injectors cleaning which cost me 100 bucks...

Out of money to do the whipers... Probably go supercheap auto and replace it myself later...

Paid $24 for a pair of front wiper refills (this is simply the rubber strip that you cut to size) and $21 for the rear wiper (this includes the clip as apparently you cannot use the refill) from VW.

All up $45, which is lower than super cheap which wanted $58 just for the front wipers (although I think this includes the clip and is already cut to size for you).

                        Thanks for the help guys.

I would suggest a DIY for the wiper blades. Then you can buy those silicon refills and slide it into the original banana wipers that's OEM on the PoloGTI.

i've used the picturial guide below on my polo

                          picturial guide - http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1818550

Maybe the text guide will help some as well.

use the PIAA wiper blade refills, they are the industry leader for silicone wipers...the most expensive, but quality stuff

                          have fun

Got mine (front wipers) for $25 thru VW and its the whole set, not just the refills.

                              wipers

                              Hi all

With the rear wiper you can pull it apart and just replace the rubber (silcone) part.

It does not look like it comes apart but it does and the rubber bit is the same as any other wiper.

I cannot speak for the front wiper blades but I imagine that they are the same
